The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has pledged huge monetary reward to the FIFA World-Cup bound Super Falcons in Canada.
In a chat with players after their routine training in Abuja on Wednesday, the president of the NFF, Amaju Pinnick, told the girls that if they made it out of the group stage, they will be rewarded greatly with cash.
“We will strike a deal, get to quarter finals and you will get 50,000US Dollars, Semi Finals 100,000 US dollars, and the Finals will be 250,000 US dollars,” he said.
“You are inestimable, you are a pride, what you have done no team in Nigeria has done it. Thank you for always having patience, zeal, patriotism and determination to succeed, we are very happy and comfortable with you,” he added.
“We are doing a lot in our capacity to ensure you are not going to lack anything.”
“I really want to commend you, and also that the federation is 100 percent behind you, please make us very proud and win the first trophy for the incoming Government,” he said.
The Captain of the Team, Osinachi Ohale, thanked the NFF chairman for the support.
The Falcons will jet out of the country on May 20 and will be playing friendly matches with New Zealand and Canada before their first game.
The team is in the tough Group D with USA, Sweden and Sweden.
